Sander and Simone’s wedding took place in spring, when the fresh green of the forest and the soft light by the water created a beautiful setting. Sander wore a stylish tailored suit from Tailormade Suits in Tilburg, while Simone shined in an elegant dress from Koonings, the well known bridal boutique in Deurne.

The ceremony took place indoors, in one of the charming halls of Dennenoord. Personal vows were exchanged, creating a touching and intimate moment. The calm and loving energy that Sander and Simone radiate was already very evident during our first meeting, and were just as present on the wedding day itself. The entire day exuded connection and peace.

What struck me most was the strong bond they share with their family and friends. It created an open, genuine atmosphere where I, as a photographer, felt more like a guest than an outsider.

Dennenoord Events is located on the forest edge of the IJzeren Man in Weert, a unique and peaceful setting surrounded by greenery. The venue offers a spacious outdoor terrace with views of the lake, making it possible to hold the ceremony, dinner, or drinks outside with a beautiful natural backdrop.

Additionally, Dennenoord has several indoor halls that can be flexibly arranged for the ceremony, dinner, or evening party. This means that even in case of bad weather, you can still enjoy the entire day at one location — something many couples greatly appreciate.

Perfect for Wedding Photography

As a photographer, I was immediately excited about the versatility of the venue. The shoot with Sander and Simone took place in the forest surrounding Dennenoord, with its scenic trails and soft light. The waterfront of the IJzeren Man also offered beautiful rustic and natural compositions.

Many couples plan their portraits around midday, when the sunlight is often harsh and comes straight from above, which is usually not the most flattering light for portraits. What makes Dennenoord ideal is the surrounding forest: the canopy filters the sunlight, creating soft, even light and natural shade. In open spaces between the trees, beautiful directional light emerges, adding depth and atmosphere to the photos. This combination allows for beautiful, flattering images at almost any time of day, without compromising on mood or location.

Culinary Delights in an Intimate Setting

After the ceremony, Sander, Simone, their guests, and I enjoyed an extensive dinner. There was a wide selection of grilled meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes, complemented by fresh cold salads and side dishes.

The dinner was just as relaxed as the rest of the day, everything flowed smoothly and unrushed. This was, in part, thanks to the professional Dennenoord team.
